Shawnee or Shawnee Mission? Google needs one answer.

Your address has to read the same everywhere

Google trusts a business more when its name, address and phone match on every site that lists it. "Shawnee" on one site, "Shawnee Mission" on another and a neighboring city on a third because of a shared ZIP code is enough to split that trust.

It is one of the first things I check for a Shawnee contractor. Fixing it costs nothing but time.

The river does not stop the map

Shawnee's north edge is the Kansas River, and my office is a few miles north of it in Kansas City, Kansas. A lot of Shawnee contractors work both sides: Lenexa and Merriam to the south, Bonner Springs and west KCK across the river.

The map does not care about the river. It cares how far the customer is from you, and how strong your listing is compared to the ones closer to them.

What I would do first

Verify the listing and lock in one way of writing the address. Go through every directory that lists you and make it match, word for word. Then the monthly work: posts, photos, review asks and a 49-point scan around your shop.

$500 a month, and nothing until the phone rings.

Your website, your Google listing and the SEO, for $500 a month. Nothing at signing and nothing at launch. The first bill comes 7 days after your first call, and if 45 days go by with no call, you owe nothing.

Everything in the $500
